Abstract : A new met hod , namely multiple p oint curvature comp ensation (MPCC) ,is p rop osed f or t he design of a bandgap ref e rence , and its design p rinciples , t heoretical de rivation , and one f easible circuitry implementation are p resented. Being diff e rent f rom traditional techniques , t his idea f ocuses on finding multiple temp eratures in t he whole range at which t he first order de rivatives of t he outp ut ref e rence voltage equal zero. In t his way , t he curve of t he outp ut ref erence voltage is flattened and a better eff ect of curvature comp ensation is achieved. The circuitry is simulated in ST Microelectronics 0118μm CMOS technology , and t he simulated result shows t hat t he ave rage temp erature coefficient is only 1pp m/ ℃in t he range from - 40 t o 125 ℃
